Guests
have loved this old house, and return time and again to enjoy its
sense of comfort, character, light, and space.
"Low
Fell" is beautifully decorated and maintained, yet still manages
to retain the type of relaxed, friendly and very welcoming atmosphere
that emanates naturally from a home - but not necessarily from a
"guest house".

Originally built as a gentleman's residence in 1905 from Lakeland
stone, "Low Fell" nestles peacefully and privately behind
a high wall - set well back from the minor B road - in an acre of
lovely wooded garden and looking south and west towards the lake.
On
warmer days with windows and doors flung open, all you will be able
to hear is bird song, church bells and the occasional clank of a
distant ferry chain on the lakeshore.

On summer mornings there's nothing nicer than an early morning stroll
either to the lakeshore (Windermere at peace and in the cool early
morning mist is enough to gladden any heart) to the village for
a newspaper, or to the top of the fell behind the house where the
sight of the early morning sun on a distant mountain will stay in
your memory for a long time.

|

On cooler days snuggle up in a squashy sofa next to the fire with
a glass of wine, or a cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit or two
- and read more about this glorious and spectacularly beautiful
part of the world in which we're so fortunate to live. We have lots
of books and maps and you will be most welcome to borrow any or
all of them.
We
have lived in the lake district for most of our lives and are more
than happy to help you to plan walks, or days out by car, bus, boat
or bike. We know the most peaceful places to go - and we know the
nicest restaurants and the best pubs!
