Set in the heart of the English Lake District surrounded in the distance by wooded fells, and close to the shores of Lake Windermere, Lowfell is a five-minute stroll from Bowness-on-Windermere... a pretty, bustling village actually on the shores of The Lake District National Park's largest lake, with a great selection of nice places to eat, lots of interesting, rnoochable shops and things to see and do.
If you wish, it's easy to leave your car behind when you're staying with us, and to see the lakes by boat, bus, bike or on foot. We can easily arrange splendid tours and days out too with mountain-goat.com if you'd prefer to relax and let someone else do the driving!
Windermere is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from here, (5 mins in the car) and is a nice residential village with service shops, a library and the bus and train station. If you plan to arrive by bus or train, we're more than happy to come and pick you up from the station if we can - do let us know in advance - it's a bit of a hike down the hill with your luggage! (Taxis are usually in abundance at the station though if you prefer to be independent, and should charge no more than around £3.50 to bring you to the door).
Travelling by train: Our nearest mainline station is Oxenholme - The Lake District. Change here for Windermere, a connection of around 15 minutes.
By car: We will email detailed directions with your confirmation of booking.
